Easter Seals BC/Yukon

Easter Seals BC & Yukon is a charitable service operated by the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. It supports individuals of all ages with diverse abilities through inclusive programs, accessible facilities, and family-centered services across British Columbia and the Yukon.


Mission and vision

Mission: To inspire and mobilize communities to support people with disabilities by providing programs and resources that promote belonging, growth, and independence.

Core programs and services

Camps and recreational programming

  • Summer and family camps: Fully accessible overnight camps in Shawnigan Lake, Squamish, and Winfield, offering inclusive recreation, peer connection, and skill-building.
  • Community programs: Virtual camps, day camps, and ongoing social and recreational activities that keep people connected year-round.

Easter Seals House

A safe, affordable home-away-from-home in Vancouver for families and individuals with disabilities traveling for medical treatment. Easter Seals House offers private suites, communal amenities, and a welcoming, supportive environment.

Life skills and independence

The Compass and CompassWorks programs help youth and adults with disabilities gain life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, communication, and self-advocacy. These programs focus on preparing individuals for greater independence and, where appropriate, employment readiness.

Public education and inclusion

Easter Seals promotes disability awareness through community outreach, accessibility initiatives, fundraising events, and partnerships. They engage businesses and schools in learning about inclusion and removing barriers to participation.
