Inclusive community support organization focused on developmental disabilities.

Inclusion Powell River Society is a non-profit, CARF-accredited organization based in the qathet region (formerly Powell River). Founded in 1954, it provides inclusive, community-based services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, across all ages and stages of life.


Vision and approach

Inclusion Powell River envisions a community where everyone belongs. Their work is guided by values of inclusion, self-determination, accessibility, and respect for the rights and contributions of people with disabilities.

    These services promote early development, support access to inclusive childcare, and offer individualized planning for children with support needs.

Community living and housing

    Adults with developmental disabilities are supported to live independently or with assistance, build community connections, and pursue personal goals.

Employment services

Inclusion Powell River helps individuals find and maintain meaningful employment through job training, resume development, interview preparation, and on-the-job support. Initiatives include inclusive social enterprises like Kindred ReBuild.

Seniors programs

The organization offers services for aging adults with disabilities, including social and recreational programs based out of Gerry Gray Place.

Therapy services

On-staff physiotherapists and occupational therapists work with children and youth to support motor development, sensory needs, and school readiness.


Advocacy and community leadership

Inclusion Powell River is committed to advancing human rights and equity for people with disabilities. It promotes awareness, offers educational events, and participates in regional and provincial advocacy efforts aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
